My first post

Well this is my very first blog post. I'll be honest with you, I've never been into the whole Myspace and Facebook thing, but it seems that blogging could be pretty fun (if I can get people to read it.) I'll start off by telling you a little about myself and my family. I'm 27 years old and live in Elmira, NY with my wife of two years. She's in school full-time and will graduate in May with a Master's in Social Work. We have no kids but a dog named Cooper. You can see his picture on the left. I work for a company named Schweizer Aircraft, a company of 1000 workers owned by Sikorsky Aircraft. We design and manufacture light helicopters and fixed-wing recon aircraft. I am an aerospace engineer and work on powerplant installations (engine integration). I have been working at Schweizer for 3.5 years and it was my first job out of college. The first project I ever worked on was the X2 Technology Demonstrator, which, if successful, will be the fastest helicopter in the world. It hovered for the first time this summer. Google it...it's pretty cool.

Hi there Dan, welcome to blog world!

I noticed you live in Elmira and have hockey as your interests - I lived in Buffalo for a few years and am a diehard Sabres fan!

I went graduated from University at Buffalo (you know, UB) and grew up in Rochester so naturally I am a Sabres fan. Did you go to UB? Your name looks familiar.

Dan

I was at UB from 2003-2005 - I was doing a MS in Mechanical Engg. We have probably seen each other around Furnas or Jarvis!

I was working with Dr. Hua (Nanomaterials) and Dr. Baier (Biomaterials); I also TAed for Dr. Deborah Chung and Dr. Soom on a couple of Materials classes - were you in any of these?

Hi Dan,
I went to RIT, so Elmira was a fierce rival for us in sports. But I saw you went to UB. It’s funny that you now go to BU. Where did you grow up in Rochester? Way to give the D&C a shout out on your blog. I really like the background and feel of your blog. I like your Poll. I want to find out how to add the Reactions tool to the bottom of my posts. It’s a neat feature, and I also like the title of your blog. It’s catchy.
